Is the end near?
The end of my creative rut that is. We all know the end is near, I mean surely the Mayans knew what they were talking about. Anyhow!!
I am taking an online Runes class and one of the 'assignments' is to make a Book of Ceremonials for our Runes practice. I decided to use what I have (((GASP!!!))))). I know, that is a novel concept!! So, I had this crappy 8X8 album left over from a kit that I had gotten on discount at Art House, but had never used. Now, I should preface that by saying it was crappy in its appearance, not in function.
I decided to cover the thing with some fabric. I have this purple stuff, the side says 'Nancy Crow for Kent Avery Licensed by John Kaldor'. Googled it and came up with names databases. I must have gotten it at Fabric Depot on sale or something. It is on the far left hand side of this picture. The album is in the middle. See? Ugly. I used Thermo Web Peel and Stick double sided adhesive to adhere the fabric to the cover of the scrapbook.
I also used Thermo Web to adhere some funky fiber-y thing that also came in a kit to the cover. The scrapbook originally had a black elastic in the back that would come around the front to hold the book closed. I decided to use those already existing holes and fashion my own surrounding ribbon.
This is the end result:
I think it came out quite darling! A little more fairy-esque than originally intended, but it will certainly do! I am quite proud of the thing, actually!
